My delicious (and simple) Swedish Meatballs

This week I want to share my simple and super delicious recipe for Swedish meatballs. I always cook them in the oven, since me and a friend did a controlled experiment with different cooking methods and came to the conclusion that they were the tastiest in the oven. What surprised me the most was that they also got a very good outside in the oven, especially if you cook directly on the plate and make sure to roll the balls a bit after half the time passed, when they have started to get a surface.

The exact cooking time varies a lot depending on how big meatballs you make, 10 minutes is good for meatballs of 3-4cm.

Ann's delicous meatballs 3-4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 small yellow onion

  • 1/2dl cream

  • 1 egg

  • 400 grams minced beef

  • Salt / Pepper

  • ev.Allspice

How to make it:

  1. Finely grate the onion

  2. Mix the minced beef, onion, egg and cream to a smooth batter with a tree spoon.

  3. Taste the minced meat with salt, pepper and preferably also allspice

  4. Roll the minced meat mixture into balls (tip: wet your hands with water before rolling).

  5. Bake in the oven at 190-200 degrees Celsius, about 10 minutes (until cooked through).

Serve with boiled potatoes, cream sauce, lingon berries and pickled cucumber.

Enjoy!

Hope they got delicous for you to! / Ann
